Umpqua Bank is seeking a Regional Director for our Commercial Banking team in Seattle.
This role develops and implements aggressive business development programs and strategies to grow the assigned market. Leads the sales process including selling and business development activities and direct contact with business referral sources and clients.
Coordinates with marketing resources, treasury management services and other product/service providers within the company. Develops and implements cross-selling strategies with an established store network.
Identifies, hires, motivates and retains top talent. Promotes and maintains efficient operations processes designed to achieve the highest levels of customer service quality. Maintains credit quality standards.
Creates and maintains controls to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in regard to account management (past due loans) and timely follow-up on tickler systems. Achieves outstanding credit exams. Grants credit within approved guidelines.
Actively learns, demonstrates and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

Directs the operations of a geographic area (i.e. State or portion of State) for commercial banking organizations to ensure achievement of short and long-term goals and objectives and sales and profit objectives are met.
Sets production goals and ensures their achievement. Develops and manages incentive plans including ensuring accurate tracking and application of required modifier’s to plan payouts.
Ensures proper standards are implemented in order to safeguard the company assets. Stays informed of trends in the commercial banking and financial industries in order to effectively anticipate the markets and opportunities.
Significant experience and in-depth knowledge of commercial lending or finance industry.
May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Responsible for other duties as assigned. Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
Ability to demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and apply to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Must be able to keep up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required, annual required, or job-specific training.

The Market President is responsible for oversight of branch personnel, to include adherence to all bank policy and procedures and ensuring our products and services are delivered with a high level of service quality. The Market President will develop and implement a strategy as it relates to bank-wide directives that align with overall budget expectations. The Market President is responsible for delivery of products and services to customers using high quality customer service.
This position is highly focused on business development, community involvement and is responsible for small business lending as well as managing overall relationships within the market. The successful candidate will report to the Central Kentucky Regional President.
